Strategic planfs for tourism

 Abstract

This chapter on tourism strategic plans in Italy adopts a historical approach start from an evaluation of the effects of the reform of the Bassanini Law on Trade and Tourism and then analysing the various plans for the development of tourism that have been made, identified with the name of the Minister who presided over the
sector at the time: Piano Signorello (1993), Piano Gnudi (2013) and Piano Franceschini. In particular, the last PST of 2017-2022, Italy Country for travellers, was thoroughly analysed.

 

Tourism programming regions and the region of Tuscany

 Abstract

This article analyzes tourism planning in the Tuscany Region starting from the application of the National Law 2017/1983, which remains the largest tourism reform ever carried out over the years. Also presented are the Tourism text and several unique regional texts of Tourism. The broad focus on the organization of the region of Tuscany also reveals the reasons that led to the assumption of the concept of "scope" as the territorial base of reference for the PST 2017-2022.

 

Arrivals and overnight stays in italian regions in the period 2000-2019

 Abstract

This article presents the main data and tourist indicators for the Italian regions. The analysis covers the historical series from 2000 to 2019 and presents with graphs, tables and maps, the interregional differences in terms of arrivals and presences. Finally, it also exposed and comments on the impact of the pandemic on national and regional tourism.

 

The tourist movement of the province

 Abstract

The article proposes a reading of tourism in the Tuscan region, analysing the dynamics at the level of each province and over the period 2000/2019. Data on tourist arrivals and presences are then presented at the municipal level or aggregations of municipalities concerning specific territorial characteristics. Finally, trends from the years of the pandemic and the effects on the regional system are presented, recalling some considerations of tourism policy.

 

The provinces and their vocations tourism before and after the pandemic

 Abstract

This article aims to present a new combination of data for homogeneous clusters of municipalities in Tuscany. The peculiarity of this tourist analysis lies in considering dimensions of tourism not detected or ignored by making estimates of tourist flows. The official data provided by Istat are compared to the esteems to obtain an adequate dimension of tourism in Tuscany. This statistical analysis presented in tables, graphs, and maps offers territorial specialisation.

 

The individual municipalities

 Abstract

This chapter offers a micro-analysis of Tuscany tourism considering the single municipalities. The peculiarity of this tourist analysis lies in considering dimensions of tourism not detected or ignored by making estimates of tourist flows. In this way, the municipalities can have an accurate size of tourism compared to the observed
one and the estimated one. Cities are also presented in tables with different positions based on some tourist indicators.

 
 

The tourism economy of the Tuscany region

 Abstract

Analysis of the tourism economies of a region is relevant for determining the policies and effects of tourism on the productive and economic systems. For the Tuscany region, the leading economic indicators are analysed using panel data and checking their development and growth dynamics. The article analyses data
on tourism spending, the balance of payments and impacts concerning ISTAT data and estimates of ignored tourism in the region.

 
 

The tourism that does not appear

 Abstract

Starting from the methodology to estimate the accurate tourism dimensions, according to the lead statistical indicators, the article compares the Tuscani Region with the others in Italy, including the ignored and unobserved tourism. The Xre, as overnights and tourist estimation, was considered. The multipliers effects are relevant, offering a more realistic situation of the tourism demand in Italy.

 
 

The sharing economy and short-term short tourist rentals Airbnb and similar

 Abstract

This article considers the sharing economy in Tuscany, with particular attention to Airbnb and other networks proposing different hospitality typologies. The local house rents have become essential for the region's tourism supply. The extended stay or the short breaks are analysed. The data are presented for Tuscany and the main cities, using maps with the concentration of this not standardised tourism hospitality.

This article presents a complete and deep analysis of the thermal destinations in Italy. Market preferences change this sector to new challenges and critical changes. Tourism demand and the supply are analysed at the regional level and the trends. The leading companies and also hotel occupation indexes are calculated. Also, the pandemic demands shock affect this kind of tourism motivation.
