About the Journal

Turistica - Italian Journal of Tourism is an Open Access scientific journal that aims to foster and strengthen advances in tourism-related research. It invites original contributions of an empirical and theoretical nature and publishes high-quality studies on any aspect of tourism, including interdisciplinary contributions on tourism-related topics. Established by Professor Emilio Becheri in 1991 as the first Italian journal on tourism economics, marketing, and management, as of 2023 Turistica has broadened its scope and adopted a Diamond Open Access publication model. It is now the official journal of the Italian Society of Tourism Sciences (SISTUR).

Turistica is recognized as a scientific journal by ANVUR (Italian National Agency for the Evaluation of the University and Research Systems) in Area 8, 10, 11, and 13.
