The debate on local tourism activity management is focused on the bed tax that tourists should pay as city users, for additional management costs determined by their visit.
During the first years of the 21st Century, the debate has expanded significantly and several towns, especially in Tuscany, required a regional policy granting the right to establish a bed tax or hotel tax.
